Why should I assess my child?
The families we work with come from all over the world, from a variety of schools, and curriculums. For many of our students, English is their second language.
For all of our clients (even the British ones) an assessment allows us to see how a child compares academically to their peer-group in the UK. It helps us to gauge which schools we should be targeting, if tuition is necessary, and if so, where the child’s weaknesses lie.
The assessment consists of age-appropriate tests in English, Maths and Verbal/Non-Verbal Reasoning and a one-on-one ‘interview’. At 13+ and older there may also be a Science and Humanities assessment. The resulting report gives the parent a clear indication on the academic level of their child and gives us a much better insight into how we can best help.
What should I be doing?
